VOLUNTEER

South LA Pride is looking for volunteers for our annual event on Saturday, July 13, 2024 for our 6th annual event. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Join us for a vibrant celebration of community, love, and unity in South Los Angeles! Gather your loved ones for a day of joy at our family-friendly picnic, where you’ll be immersed in a colorful atmosphere of acceptance and diversity. Enjoy live entertainment that will keep spirits high, indulge in delicious treats from a variety of food trucks, and explore an array of vendors offering unique treasures. South LA Pride is more than just an event—it’s a place where everyone is welcomed with open arms to embrace the beauty of togetherness. Come join the festivities and make unforgettable memories with us!

Thanks to generous support from Councilmembers Marqueece Harris-Dawson, and Heather Hutt, and our sponsors, South LA Pride is FREE to attend making it accessible to everyone in our community!



Besides good vibes, yourself, family, and friends, feel free to bring your favorite chair, blanket, a picnic basket.  There is no cooking in the park, but we will have food vendors and food trucks with food for sale.

South LA Pride works with community interventionist to provide a safe space for all of our attendees.

  • All bags will be inspected prior to entry.
  • No outside alcohol.
  • No weapons, pepper spray, or firearms.
  • No smoking or vaping on the park grounds (including parking lots)

Dogs are allowed in the park with the following rules:

  • Dog defecation is to be immediately removed by owner.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times in the parking area.
  • All dogs must be spayed or neutered.
  • Aggressive dogs are not allowed in the park. Dogs exhibiting unusually aggressive behavior are to be removed from the park immediately.
  • In the event of dog bite or injury owner/guardian must exchange current tag information and phone number.
  • Dogs must not be unattended. Any dogs left unattended will be taken to the shelter.
  • All dogs over the age of four months shall be fully vaccinated and licensed.
  • All dogs must wear collars and tags.
  • Dogs with communicable diseases are not allowed on park premises at any time.
  • Female dogs in any stage of heat are not permitted in the park.

The Michelle & Barack Obama Sports Complex is located at 5001 Obama Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Free parking is available at the park.  Additional street parking is located along Obama Blvd.

Free parking is also available across the street from the park at the east end of the Ralphs parking lot.
